Planning : Narrative

Narrative : 3:15

"There have been a number of murders in my small town over the last 2 weeks."

The police say there is a man that breaks in to people's houses between 3:15-3:45am, murders them then feasts on the remains. The protagonist sets up surveillance cameras around his house for safety and after a week he checks the security tapes. He doesn't see much but he did notice that every night around 3:15am, he would leave his house.

Our narrative follows a non linear plot line starting at the beginning with a montage of fast paced moving images, to disorientate the audience and make them feel as uncomfortable as if they were the  victim. The overarching narrative structure is not Todorovian, as we start with disequilibrium to disrupt the audience's stream of consciousness and make the atmosphere more tense. This sense of disorder is reflected in our main protagonist. We decided to create a dual narrative that links the Protagonist to our Antagonist. This links to Levi Strauss' theory of binary opposites as there is both a light and dark side to all our characters. We'll use cross cutting as an editing method, used in most conventional thriller movies.

Premise: The police force calls on detective John Wayne, a former agent with physical and emotional scars, when a notorious serial killer that mutilated and killed 14 women suddenly strikes. It's up to john wayne to uncover his own inner demons and solve the case.
